Let’s be honest… there’s a lot of sh*t wedding favours out there. They end up discarded and forgotten about at the end of the night, with the majority winding up in the bin. If you want to avoid this, give guests favours they’ll actually want to bring home. In part 2 of our DIY Bride Guide, here, we round-up the BEST DIY wedding favours from Pinterest.

Wedding favours are actually a pretty nice idea. They allow you to give guests a lasting memento of your wedding day and offer a little thanks for showing up and being a part of it. Wedding trends have evolved over the years and (thankfully) favours have moved with the times. Long-gone are the days of sugar coated almonds! Today, couples are choosing to get a little more creative and the outcome can be pretty spectacular.

So, if you fancy giving guests wedding favours, which won’t end up in the bin, here’s our round-up of the BEST DIY favours from Pinterest…

Sparklers

This is undoubtedly one of our favourite wedding favours, which actually has a dual purpose. Perfect for later at night, get guests together and have a sparkler send off and a fab photo opportunity! It’s super easy to pull together too. All you need is a container (we love these glass jars and rustic buckets), sparklers and a sign informing guests of the send off time. Plus, you can even personalise your matches and add a little message to your sparklers for a bespoke finish.

Hangover kits

Guests will definitely thank you for this the next day! Put together a little hangover kit of things which might help ease the pain the next day. Water, painkillers, mints, vitamin C and an energy bar are all great options.

Flop flops

Sorry guys… this one’s just for the girls. Walking around in sky high heels all day, can make for sore feet and ultimately prevent guests from hitting the dance floor. Thankfully, this wedding favour is a saviour! Keep guests dancing long into the night thanks to flip flops!¬†Choose flip-flops in your wedding colour, or go pastel like the above for a colourful approach. Then, all you need is a basket or something to hold them.

Miniture drinks

Miniature drinks with personalised labels are sure to go down an absolute storm. You could take this a step further and write a personal message for each guest or include a photo of yourselves and your wedding date for a great keepsake.

Sweet treats

While the candy cart trend might be on the way out, that doesn’t stop guests craving something sweet. We love these tiny jam jars filled with nostalgic sweets. These will work particularly well for a vintage themed wedding and again, there’s the option to add individual messages.

Seeds

This one’s off the cute scale for sure! Give guests favours in the form of seeds so that they can plant them in their garden and always remember your wedding day. We love the attention to detail here. Bonus points for adding a wheelbarrow too.

Cake pops

Perfect for the bride or groom who loves to bake, try your hand at these cake pops. Just keep in mind that you’ll need to make these the day before the wedding so only go for this if you are sure that time will be on your side.

Succulents

One of the biggest trends, in general, for 2018 is succulents, so it was only a matter of time until they made it as a wedding favour. Simple, stylish and with the wow factor, offer guests a succulent with a message, to take home and nurture after your wedding.
